This Thursday is our first Spirit Day of the year! Students are encouraged to wear their house team colours and show their school spirit.
We can’t wait to see everyone proudly representing their team.
Welcoming ConversationsWe are excited to welcome families to our Welcoming Conversations on October 7th and 8th!
These conversations are a wonderful opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher, connect, share information, and start the year off together.
Please take a moment to read the directions for information on how to schedule an in-person meeting with your child’s teacher. Click LINK
We look forward to seeing you and having the opportunity to connect with you and your family!
We’re excited to share that PAC is trying something new this year; Hot Lunch will be offered THREE days a week!
Our first Hot Lunch session runs from October to December, and ordering is now open through October 11th.
To order, simply create an account and place your orders through MUNCHALUNCH (click the link)
📅 Important: October 11th is the final ordering deadline. Once ordering closes, we are unable to reopen the system or accept late orders, so please make sure your orders are in before the deadline.
We hope this makes a few busy school days a little easier, and a lot more delicious!

Suncrest Elementary is proud to once again participate in the Terry Fox School Run and continue Terry’s legacy of courage, determination, and hope.
Wednesday, September 23 at 1:00pm
We are excited to welcome AJ Uthayakumaran, a Terry Fox School Run Ambassador, to Suncrest.
AJ will share Terry Fox’s incredible story along with his own passion for living an active, healthy life and helping others. Through his engaging presentation, AJ will encourage our students to be courageous, compassionate, and determined, just like Terry.
Students will also learn how their participation and fundraising efforts help support important cancer research across Canada.
As Terry said:
“I want to try the impossible.”
Thursday, September 24 from 2:15–2:45 p.m.
Our students and staff will come together as a school community to walk and run in honour of Terry Fox and all those whose lives have been affected by cancer.
This year, Suncrest has set a goal of raising $1,000 for cancer research. We encourage families who are able to support our campaign and help us reach our goal.
Every step matters. Every dollar makes a difference. Together, we can help continue Terry’s dream of creating a future without cancer.
Thank you for supporting our students as we carry on Terry’s incredible legacy!
We’re excited to welcome all students and families to the 2026/2027 school year! Here’s what you need to know as we get ready for the first day back.
We appreciate your patience as we work through the final stages of organizing our classes.
The 2026/2027 classes will hopefully be ready by the second week of school, depending on enrolment changes.
Each year, we see new registrations and student withdrawals right up to (and even after) the first day. Our staff began working on placements back in June, and we continue to collaborate closely to create balanced, thoughtful class groupings.
Please take a moment to click here to learn more about combined classes; a common structure in most Burnaby schools. This resource will help explain how they work and why they are often used.
Suncrest is working toward becoming a litterless lunch school this year!
We encourage families to pack lunches in reusable containers instead of disposable wrappers or single-use plastics.
No need to bring full school supplies on the first day. For the first week, students only need a few basics:
Once classes are finalized, teachers will share exact supply lists.
📌 Primary students do not need to purchase supplies at this time — teachers will provide more information in September.
Looking forward to another great year at Suncrest!🌻
