Our school goal is to improve primary reading skills and achievement in the areas of decoding and reading comprehension. The next phase of our plan will be to expand our goal to the Intermediate years.
Why was this goal chosen?
A Focus on early intervention at the primary level will promote school-wide literacy K-7 (i.e. mitigate long-term academic and social-emotional difficulties related to the inability to read). Students who are successful in reading also feel better about themselves as students/learners.
