This Friday will be our next Spirit Day. The theme for this Spirit Day is “Zoom Meeting” which means business/professional attire on top and pyjamas or comfies below! We hope that you can participate in this fun day! House Points for Sports Day will be allocated to those that participate!
We will be having two Remembrance Day Assemblies on Thursday, November 10th. The first assembly will be at 9:30 a.m. for Divisions 1, 2, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13. The second assembly will be at 11:00 a.m. for Divisions 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14. Parents and guardians are welcome to attend one of the assemblies that their children’s division will be part of.
We will be distributing poppies from the Red Cross on Thursday morning and will be collecting donations for the Canadian Legion Poppy Fund on Wednesday and Thursday should you wish to contribute. You may also donate to the Legion directly by clicking HERE.
Schools are not in session on Friday, November 11th as we take time to recognize the sacrifices made by our Veterans.
As indicated in the notice sent home last week, Suncrest will have two school wide Halloween activities this year. The first is a pumpkin patch and hot chocolate on Friday, October 28 and the second is the opportunity to wear school appropriate costumes on Monday, October 31st.
A reminder that student costumes for Monday should not include full face masks (we need to be able to see who students are), depict violence in anyway, or be overly revealing. We also ask that costumes do not depict or reinforce cultural or gender stereotypes . We will have a costume parade starting at 1:15 p.m.
Details about both events have been e-mailed home.
Thank you for your help in making Monday an inclusive and fun day for all our students!
Learn some fun and engaging ways to play math games that practice important skills, increase math fact fluency, and bring the family together! Please RSVP for this fun event using the notice sent home with your child. We look forward to seeing you!
It is volleyball season and Suncrest is happy to invite grade 6 and 7 students to join the fun! There was a meeting today at recess, but if a student missed it and would like to play, they can still see Mr. Cheung for the forms and information. We look forward to a great season!
